The Department of Obstetrics & Gynecology received its initial accreditation for service in 1971 from the Philippine Obstetrical and Gynecological Society. This department gained its full accreditation in 1984. It has a 4-year documented graduated and progressive residency training, with each year level designed according to the standards set by the Philippine Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.
The SPMC Mycobacteriology Laboratory, an important section of the Department of Pathology, has been operating since July 18, 2014. Its services are coursed through the Health Services and Specialty Clinic (also known as SPMC Industrial Clinic), as with other laboratory services.
