Dermatology resident presents case report in Thailand

Dr. Bryan Guevara, a second year resident from Southern Philippines Medical Center (SPMC) Department of Dermatology, presented the case report of a patient with a rare condition called ‘incontinentiapigmenti with bilateral cleft lip and palate’ at the Centara Grand of Central World Hotel in Bangkok, Thailand last 4-6 March 2015.
Dr. Guevara was one of the 80 international participants chosen to present case reports during the joint8th Regional Scientific Meeting on Pediatric Dermatology and 40th Dermatological Society of Thailand Annual Meeting, with the theme: ‘Challenges in Pediatric Dermatology.’
The case report was co-authored by Karen Alabado, MD, FPDS, the Training Officer of the SPMC Department of Dermatology, and by MaricarrPamela Lacuesta, MD, FPDS, aconsultantdermatopathologist from the same department.
The only other participant from the Philippines who also presented a case report during the meetingwas Dr. Kai Mabilin-Prieto from East Avenue Medical Center (EAMC).
Also present during the meeting were: Dr. Guevara’s proud mother, Dr. Jocelyn Guevara, who is also a dermatologist; Dr. Jennifer Tangtatco, a dermatology graduate of SPMC; and Dr. Elizabeth Prieto, the Training Officer of EAMC.
Dr. Guevara will be presenting two other case reports, one on a ‘20-year old Filipino male with dermatitis herpetiformis’ and another on a ‘54-year old Filipino male with keratoacanthomacentrifugummarginatum-verrucous carcinoma spectrum,’ during the 23rdQuadrennialWorld Congress of Dermatologyon June 8-13, 2015 at the Vancouver Convention Center in British Columbia, Canada.
